Academic Entrepreneurship Development Framework in the Humanities in Iran

Abstract

Academic entrepreneurship refers to the commercialization of academic research by university researchers through the establishment of new businesses, and since the nature of entrepreneurship in the humanities is more to service entrepreneurship, it needs its own research. This research is in terms of applied purpose.Qualitative research approach is a type of content analysis and its main purpose is to determine the framework for the development of university entrepreneurship in humanities. In this regard, after reviewing previous studies, using semi-structured interviews with 15 experts in the field of entrepreneurship, university entrepreneurs in the field of humanities, including faculty, professors, university students, and graduates who have setup specialized service and advisory centers. Collected data was analyzed using content analysis method in MaxQDA 10 software. Finally, seven dimensions were identified as entrepreneurship culture, government role, university structure, university education, research and commercialization, external communication and financial infrastructure for the development of the entrepreneurial university in the field of humanities. The data obtained from this research can be considered as a front-end step for entrepreneurship development in the humanities.
