The Effect of Entrepreneurial Competencies on Entrepreneurial Alertness (Case study: Agricultural Consulting Services Enterprises, Kerman province)

Abstract

This research was aimed to examine the effect of entrepreneurial competencies on entrepreneurial alertness related to entrepreneurial opportunity. The research was type of applied and descriptive- survey research in terms of goal and data collection method, respectively. The statistical population of this study was consisted of 346 members of agricultural Consulting, technical and engineering services enterprises in southern townships of Kerman province, from which 132 members were surveyed based on Cochran formula and through stratified proportional random sampling. Data collected by the standard questionnaires. The validity of the questionnaire was examined through face validity and discriminant and convergence validity through average variance extraction. The reliability of the study instrument was examined through composite reliability which was at an appropriate level for different parts of questionnaire. (0.82- 0.90). Hypotheses of the study were approved by results and entrepreneurial competencies had significantly positive effect on three dimensions of entrepreneurial alertness i.e. scanning and search, association and connection and evaluation and judgment. Results also revealed that entrepreneurial competencies had the highest effect on evaluation and judgment dimension.
