The impact of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on the recognition of Opportunities with respect to the passion of entrepreneurship

Abstract

In recent years, opportunities as a concept that can differentiate the field of entrepreneurship from other fields of management and give it legitimacy have been the focus of attention. This research aims at studying the effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on recognizing opportunities among knowledge based enterprises located in Tehran's Science and Technology Parks considering the role of entrepreneurial passion. This research is an applied one by its purpose and a correlative-descriptive by its data gathering method. It is done by using structural equations model. Research population consists of 600 knowledge based enterprises located Science and Technology Parks. Among which 234 people have been selected on Morgan's table and Available Sampling was used. Questionnaires were distributed for data gathering and results are analyzed by Amoss22. Results show that entrepreneurial self-efficacy has positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial passion by degree of 0.411. Entrepreneurial self-efficacy has positive and significant effect on Entrepreneurial opportunity recognition by degree of 0.491 and entrepreneurial passion has positive and significant effect Entrepreneurial opportunity recognition on by degree of 0.230. Also, the results from studying the intermediate role of entrepreneurial passion in Bootstrap method showed that, this variable has moderating role in the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial passion. Also the mediating effect on the relationship between self-efficacy entrepreneurial passion and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition was confirmed.
